Rutherglen High School, in line with South Lanarkshire Councils "Promoting Positive Relationships and Understanding Distressed Behaviours Policy" and "Attachment Strategy", is committed to adapting our approaches to behaviour management and developing our understanding of distressed behaviour.

Purpose and Aims
- To provide a clear, fair and consistent approach to behaviour, based on nurturing principles and restorative practices.
- To ensure that all learners are treated fairly and with dignity, shown respect, and to promote positive relationships.
- To give staff the tools to enable them to support and equip children with strategies to regulate/co-regulate and build positive relationships with others.
- To guide teachers, pupils and parents/guardians on our restorative and relationship focused approach to behaviour management and conflict resolution and our bespoke approach to young person's personal circumstances and needs.
